Breakfast that keeps me fueled all day!

My dear friend, Trina, encouraged me to try a version of this chia seed based breakfast concoction a couple of years ago and I have been hooked ever since.  I eat this for breakfast almost every day and stay energized until lunch - which I usually don't eat until 1 or 2pm.  Maintaining stable energy without needing snacks is crucial for me on days when I have back to back personal training clients.

Chia seeds are a great source of Omega-3's fiber, and protein.  To make this at home, soak approx. 2 tablespoons of chia seeds in water for about 5 minutes until they have a gel-like texture.  Add a dollop of almond butter, some raw oats, cinnamon, fruit and a splash of milk.  Mash it all together and voila!  I also like to add hemp hearts and maca powder or unsweetened cacao powder for additional healthy fats and nutritional benefits.  Be creative with yours, the sky is the limit!

TIMESAVING LIFE HACK:  Use mason jars to prepare 2 or 3 extra days worth.  You can store this in the fridge for 3-4 days and there is nothing better than having a nutritious, energizing option ready to grab and go!

Try this out for yourself and leave a comment to let me know how you feel!
